Pay Splits
Know exactly what everyone earns.
What is Pay Splits?
Set pay rates across your whole team in one matrix and it splits the company, your inspectors and your team members, so you see what everyone earns on every inspection before it is even booked.
What you get
- Pay splits matrix: set rates for the whole team, or many people at once
- Pay splits card on every inspection, per charged line
- Inspector earnings report with date presets and export
At a glance
- Who gets split
- The company, your inspectors, and your team members
- Rate shapes
- A percentage of the job, or a flat amount
- Scope
- Team-wide, or set for one specific service or add-on
- Deductions
- Optional, and taken off before the percentage when you want them
- Requested-inspector bonus
- An extra percentage when the client asked for that inspector by name
- History
- Rules are date-effective and append-only, so a raise never rewrites what you already paid
- Frozen on completion
- Dollar amounts are fixed to the inspection when it completes
- Visible on the job
- The split shows on the inspection itself, per charged line
- Earnings report
- Date presets, XLSX and CSV export, and a generated earnings statement PDF
How Pay Splits works
5 steps, start to finish.
-
1
Start from what you charge for
Rates attach to your services and add-ons, so those come first.
-
2
Set the rates in one matrix
Percentage or flat, for the whole team at once or person by person, without opening anyone's record individually.
-
3
Override where a service is different
A specific service or add-on can carry its own rate, separate from the team-wide rule.
-
4
See it on the job
The split appears on the inspection, per charged line, from the moment it is created, so the split is visible on the job itself rather than worked out at month end.
-
5
Pay from the earnings report
Date presets, an export, and a statement PDF, so the numbers leave in the shape your bookkeeper wants.
The parts people ask about.
Turn it off if you are solo
Pay Splits is a toggle. One person doing every inspection does not need it and the screen stays out of your way.
Rates are date-effective
Changing someone's cut applies from that day forward. It never rewrites a month you have already paid.
Set services first
Rates attach to services and add-ons, so the matrix stays locked until you have created the things you charge for.
Pay Splits, answered
Do I have to use pay splits if I work alone?
No. It is off by default and the tab tells you so. Turn it on when you start paying more than one person per inspection.
What happens to past payroll if I give someone a raise?
Nothing. Rates are date-effective, so a new rate applies from the day you set it and months you have already paid are left alone.
Can an inspector see what they earn on a job?
Yes. The split shows on the inspection itself, per charged line, and the earnings report gives them the month with an export.
Can I set a different rate for one service?
Yes. Custom overrides let you set a rate for one specific service or add-on, separately from the team-wide rule.
Where do I see what everyone earned?
The earnings report, with date presets and an export, so the numbers leave the platform in the shape your bookkeeper wants.
